Driving instructors in high demand  

After all of the lockdowns due to Covid 19 the government conducted research to see what was happening to learner drivers once the world was opened up. You can see the full results of the survey here. The results are very interesting and show how busy driving instructors have been this year, and how much they can earn if they are on the road. The research shows as soon as they were legally allowed to do so over 77% of driving instructors went back to working full time, and 20% opened on part time hours. Driving instuctors are keen to be working and know there is a demand for their services.

Most driving instructors that took part in the survey were teaching between 20 and 24 learners at any one time. With between 10 and 13 of these learners having passed their theory test and between 5 and 8 having their driving test booked. This shows not only how busy the instructors are, but how important it is for them to be reliable and availble to teach their pupils so they can pass the tests they have booked. They don’t want to let their pupils down, as the waiting list to book another test is very long. It is a problem if their car lets them down, especially if the have tests booked for that week.
